The Fun Begins!

Since being released from the RE, I attended my 1st appointment with my Maternal Fetal Medicine, high risk doctor on Thursday.  At the time I was 11 weeks 1 day, and the twins are still looking good and growing as they should.  My little Baby B is very active, just as he was in the prior ultrasounds I've noticed much more activity than Baby A which the doctor had to poke to get to move around during my ultrasound.  Baby A was just chilling out either sleeping or watch the show, while Baby B basically did a series of kicks and flips.

Now that was the good news, the bad news is that my cervix is already shortening, it was already 2.97 cm and very soft so I will need to get a cerclage this Thursday.  She didn't say I would be on bed rest right away but its coming soon, I'm sure.  This is fine with me, whatever it takes to keep my babies healthy and as close as possible to term.  Just praying that my cervix holds up until then and there are no further problems.

  3. You will never know how lucky you are that someone cared to measure your cervix. Where I live, they don't, and it would have saved my son who didn't make it because I had a short cervix. so very lucky. Good luck for the rest of the pregnancy as well. Embrace the cerclage, it is a gift.

  10. Hello, I'm new to your blog, stopping by from ICLW. Congratulations on your twins! That's very exciting, although I'm sorry to hear your cervix is already shortening. But it sounds like you are in good hands and they caught it early. Hope everythin goes well with the cerclage, I'm looking foward to reading that it was no big deal and you feel great! I'm not sure if I'll have to get one (8 weeks with trips), but if so, I want to know it's not so bad. Good luck!
